Consultation: Proposed Disposal of Land Forming Part of William Torbitt Primary School

9 Feb

Redbridge Council intends to apply to the Secretary of State for Education to dispose of land forming part of William Torbitt Primary School, Eastern Avenue, Newbury Park, Ilford, IG2 7SS.

To comply with section 77 of the School and Standards and Framework Act 1998 the Council must consult over the proposed disposal. The proposed area under consideration is approximately 955 square metres located on one side of the school and is currently not used by the school. The Council expanded the school in September 2014 to allow an additional 210 pupils to be admitted. To contribute towards the cost of the scheme the Council is proposing to dispose of the site. This will not affect the operation of the school.
