Highlands Primary: Pupils shone in visit to elderly

7 Jul

Ilford Recorder (17/07/2014): Pupils shone in visit to elderly

On 9th July I was privileged to visit the residents at Wiltshire Court alongside pupils from Highlands Primary School who were there to present a cheque for £329.73.

Over the past few weeks, the pupils at Highlands Primary have worked very hard to organise a bake sale and collection. I am told that all the collection money will be spent on buying items for the residents such as new cups, saucers and foldaway tables.

During the visit, Highlands Primary decided to brighten up everyone’s day with beautiful performances of ‘You are my sunshine’ and ‘Over the rainbow’.

I hope that we will all see many more intergenerational activities organised by Highlands Primary School in the near future.
